Leipham Family Reunion

Picture
Peter Leipham, born 17 Jul 1791 at Pirmasens, Bavarian Rhine, Palatine - fought with the army of Napoleon Bonaparte, arrived in America in 1832 and settled at Russell Hill, then Luzerne Co, now Wyoming Co, PA. He and his wife, Catherine Berger Leipham lived first in a log house on pristine land they cleared with their own hands.

I copied the above paragraph from somewhere on the internet.  Every year during the last Sunday in August our family attends what is often called the "Stang Reunion".  Although it is mostly attended by relatives with the same last name, there are many others with different last names but all common decedents of Peter Leipham & his wife Catherine Burger Leipham.   Last year in 2011, the reunion had to be canceled due to flooding, especially at Creek Junction Park in Forkston, where the reunion was scheduled to be held.  This years reunion was held at the Keiserville Community Center and was lightly attended. Next year we are looking into having the reunion at Lazy Brook Park east of Tunkhannock.
